The TIG Long Cap, also known as a Long Back Cap, is a key component used at the rear end of a TIG welding torch to hold the tungsten electrode securely in place. It screws into the back of the torch body and applies pressure to the collet, which clamps the tungsten electrode firmly for stable welding operation.
This cap also helps maintain a proper seal at the back of the torch, preventing shielding gas from escaping and ensuring efficient gas flow around the weld pool. Proper gas shielding is essential for producing clean, high-quality welds without contamination.
The long cap design allows welders to use full-length tungsten electrodes (typically around 150 mm) without trimming them, making it suitable for general welding tasks where space is not restricted. This design provides better electrode stability and is commonly used in standard TIG welding setups.
Manufactured from high-temperature-resistant plastic or insulating materials with durable brass threads, the TIG long cap offers excellent durability and heat resistance during welding operations. It is widely compatible with popular TIG torch models such as WP17, WP18, and WP26, making it suitable for fabrication workshops, industrial welding, stainless steel welding, and aluminum welding applications.
Arcflow TIG Long Caps are designed for easy installation, reliable electrode clamping, and long service life, ensuring consistent performance in professional TIG welding environments.
