Arcflow 309L Welding Stainless Steel MIG Wire (ER309L) is a premium solid welding wire specially developed for MIG welding of stainless steel and dissimilar metal joints. It conforms to AWS A5.9 ER309L classification, ensuring consistent weld metal composition and reliable welding performance in demanding industrial applications.
The low-carbon (“L”) composition, typically below 0.03%, helps reduce carbide precipitation during welding and improves resistance to intergranular corrosion, resulting in durable and long-lasting weld joints.
ER309L MIG wire generally contains around 22–26% chromium and 11–14% nickel, providing excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and mechanical strength. These properties allow the weld metal to tolerate dilution when joining stainless steel with carbon or low-alloy steel, making it one of the most commonly used wires for dissimilar metal welding.
Arcflow 309L MIG wire offers smooth wire feeding, stable arc characteristics, and minimal spatter, producing clean weld beads with excellent appearance and structural integrity. It works effectively with shielding gases such as argon or argon-oxygen mixtures in MIG welding processes.
This stainless steel MIG wire is widely used in chemical plants, petrochemical industries, pressure vessels, pipelines, stainless steel fabrication, and cladding applications, where corrosion resistance and strong weld joints are required.
